NEVER EVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO ANYONE ON SOCIAL MEDIA especially* if you have SCOLIOSIS ❤️🩹 It can feel disheartening sometimes when you scroll past other physiques and feel like you’ll never get there… the truth is that we need more representation of scoliosis in the fitness community 👏 it completely affects our health & the way we train in the gym!
I hope that my journey to standing straighter & building confidence will inspire many other scolio girlies to lift those weights 🏋️♀️

Having scoliosis with a 45° curve has been a unique challenge that affects not only my posture but also how I approach fitness and daily movement. Many people underestimate how scoliosis impacts muscle balance and joint stress, which means traditional workouts often need adjusting. From my experience, adapting exercises to fit my body and focusing on form over intensity has been key. For instance, I pay special attention to symmetrical muscle development and avoid movements that cause discomfort in my rib flare or hip shift. I found pilates and targeted strength training really helpful for supporting my spine while gradually improving posture. It took a lot of patience and trial to recognize that comparing myself to others on social media only fueled frustration. Instead, I shifted my perspective to celebrate small victories—like feeling more balanced or lifting weights I once thought impossible. Representation of scoliosis in the fitness community is crucial because it educates and motivates others living with this condition. Sharing my experience, including how scoliosis affects my torso shape, shoulder alignment, and even differences in leg length, helps break stigma and inspire others to embrace fitness at their own pace. Ultimately, the goal isn’t to achieve a 'perfect' body but to build confidence, functional strength, and healthier habits that respect scoliosis’s unique demands. For anyone dealing with scoliosis, I recommend consulting with specialized physical therapists and trainers who understand spinal conditions to create a supportive workout routine. Remember, your journey is your own, and progress isn’t linear—celebrate every step forward!
