At one point in my fitness journey, I remember breaking down over my scoliosis. ⬇️

I felt defeated… like no matter how hard I trained, I would always just look uneven. To make matters worst, it seemed like everyone was making gains BUT me.

I had to remind myself that having scoliosis is not an easy foundation to build muscle upon… so I changed my approach when it came to training.

I prioritized postural correction exercises (such as schroth) and I eliminated exercises that were hurting my scoliosis/back (i.e. deadlifts)

I began training with INTENTION and TARGETED my muscle imbalances to “balance” out the weakened muscles.

And the most important, I stopped feeling ashamed of my scoliosis 🩻 and you shouldn’t either.

... Read moreLiving with scoliosis in a fitness context can feel incredibly challenging, especially when the usual training methods don’t seem to produce the same results as they do for others. I’ve been there — feeling defeated and frustrated because no matter how hard I pushed myself, the physical asymmetry from scoliosis made progress feel slow or even invisible. What truly helped me was shifting my mindset from trying to train like everyone else to training with intention and awareness of my body’s specific needs. Firstly, postural correction routines became crucial. Exercises inspired by the Schroth method helped me learn how to engage my muscles differently, improving spinal alignment and stability rather than simply building strength indiscriminately. I replaced exercises that exacerbated my back discomfort, like heavy deadlifts, with movements that focused on strengthening weaker muscles and promoting symmetry. I also dedicated time to targeted muscle balancing—identifying areas that were compensating for others and carefully designing workouts to bring a more even muscular development. It’s important for anyone with scoliosis to understand that their skeletal foundation is unique, so the typical gym plan might not be the best fit. One of the most empowering realizations was to stop feeling ashamed of my scoliosis. Accepting it as part of who I am allowed me to approach fitness with positivity rather than frustration. In fact, this acceptance motivated me to share my journey, because I want others dealing with scoliosis to know they’re not alone and that thoughtful training can make a meaningful difference. Incorporating gentle stretching and regular mobility work also helped reduce stiffness and improve posture throughout daily life, not just in the gym. And while progress may be incremental and sometimes invisible from the outside, the improved function and reduced pain made the journey worthwhile. If you have scoliosis and struggle with fitness or posture, consider consulting a physical therapist who understands your condition to tailor an effective program. Remember, the most important part is to listen to your body, train smart, and cultivate self-compassion along the way. Your scoliosis does not define you or limit your potential — it just means your fitness path will require a unique, intentional approach.

I absolutely adore fine point pen (.28mm-.4mm), and let me tell you why: 1. Clarity and better control. Thin point pens, allow your notes to look cleaner, neater, and more aesthetic even when it’s messy, you can make up more of the letters then with a thicker gel . 2. Dries fast. These are
