This unexpected food combo will blow you away: almond butter, dark chocolate hazelnut spread on Ezekiel bread. It is gluten free because the bread is flourless.
I love this food comb mo because it satisfies my sweet tooth and it is easy to make. Takes less than 5 minutes to put it all together.
Instructions:
1) Toast the bread (your choice of bread my preference is Ezekiel bread)
2) Grab the creamy almond butter (any nut butter will work, but I love this brand and almond butter, as it comes in a glass jar, it is from Whole Foods, but I am sure other grocery stores have it too).
Spread the nut butter on the bread while the bread is semi hot from toasting.
3)Then go in with the dark chocolate hazelnut butter spread and mix the two together right on your bread!! (You can use Nutella or any melted chocolate of your choice).
Enjoy with tea or coffee (needs a drink to wash it down)
Love this because I am lazy and it has minimal clean up!! Also the nut butter has protein ;)

... Read moreIn my experience, combining almond butter with dark chocolate hazelnut spread on Ezekiel bread is a game-changer for quick, wholesome snacks. Ezekiel bread is unique because it’s made from sprouted whole grains and legumes without any flour, which makes it naturally gluten-free and provides more nutrients compared to regular bread. The natural, low glycemic index of this bread helps keep blood sugar levels stable, which is perfect if you're aiming for a healthier snack.
The creamy almond butter adds a punch of protein and good fats, making the snack more satiating and ideal for keeping hunger at bay between meals. When spread onto the warm, toasted Ezekiel bread, it melts slightly, enhancing the texture and flavor. Adding the dark chocolate hazelnut spread—whether it’s a premium brand or simply Nutella—brings in a rich sweetness that balances perfectly with the nutty almond butter.
I like to enjoy this combo with a cup of tea or coffee, which makes the snack feel more indulgent without extra effort. Since it takes less than five minutes to prepare and requires minimal cleanup, it’s a go-to for busy mornings or lazy afternoons. And you can easily customize this meal—try it on other gluten-free breads or substitute almond butter with any other nut or seed butter to suit your taste and dietary needs.
If you want to make it even healthier, opt for unsweetened or lightly sweetened nut butters and spreads that don’t contain preservatives or hydrogenated oils. Using spreads and bread made from natural ingredients adds to the nutritional value while keeping flavors delicious. Overall, this unexpected food combo is a simple yet flavorful way to boost your energy and satisfy cravings while sticking to your health goals.
