Armor of God - part 1

Truth isn’t just something we casually agree with—it’s something we put on, like armor. And the belt of truth is the first piece God tells us to wear in the battle. Why? Because everything else gets held together by it.

In ancient times, a soldier’s belt wasn’t just for holding up pants—it was the core of the armor. It held the breastplate in place. It carried the sword. Without the belt, the rest of the armor would fall off. In the same way, without truth, everything in our lives begins to fall apart.

We live in a world that says, “live your truth,” but the truth isn't something we invent—it's something we discover in Jesus. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Truth isn’t a vibe. Truth is a person. And when you build your life on anything else, you’re building on sand.

The enemy knows this, and so he fights with lies. Lies about who you are. Lies that say you’re not good enough, not loved, not forgiven. Lies that whisper, “You’re all alone.” Or “God’s done with you.” And the worst part? These lies don’t shout. They sound like your own voice. That’s why Scripture says to “take every thought captive to obey Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). You have to examine what you think and ask, “Is this truth—or is it a trap?”

Lies fall apart with time. Truth stands forever. The truth strengthens you. Lies weaken you. When you know what God really says about you, about others, and about Himself—you stop falling for every fake voice that comes at you. You start walking like someone who’s armed and ready.

Strap on the belt. Start with truth. Speak it. Read it. Believe it. Let it hold you together.
