I never want to feel that way again

I might delete this post later, but I thought I'd talk about something that makes me feel vulnerable here, and that's my anxiety. Back in April, I left a job that I had been at for almost 2 years after being mistreated. A couple days after leaving, I started a new job, and so far, it's been going great until I got introuble for "junk journaling" at work. That ended with me having the worst anxiety attack I've had to date. Excuse me if I sound like I'm being dramatic, but for me, it wasn't just about the junk journaling....or so I thought. After leaving work early because I couldn't calm myself down, I realized it went far beyond that. I left my old job to find "my happiness," and with that, I found a new hobby, the "junk journaling." So telling me that I couldn't do something that brought me joy when nothing else in life does, hurt. I get it, I'm there to work, which I do. However, I'm still new and I haven't been taught a lot yet. So after I finish my work, I like to journal. It helps me feel calm and collected. Especially when my new job does give me a bit of anxiety. I work with a lot of great people who are more educated about the business we're in, and in a way, it makes me feel left out. Almost as if I weren't worthy of working with them. My friend who works with me was upset for leaving early, but I know she doesn't understand. I just wish sometimes people understood me and my struggles with anxiety and social anxiety in general. I'm old enough to be a part of this society, but in it I feel so small, like a child.

... Read moreIn today's world, mental health awareness is more important than ever, especially for young professionals dealing with anxiety and stress. The impact of workplace culture on mental well-being can be significant, often leading to feelings of inadequacy and isolation. Many individuals like myself find solace in creative outlets such as junk journaling, which can serve as a therapeutic practice for reflection and relaxation. Research indicates that journaling can improve mental clarity and reduce anxiety, offering a safe space to express emotions without fear of judgment. For those newly entering the job market, adjusting to a new environment can amplify feelings of anxiety, particularly when it involves adapting to workplace dynamics and social interactions. It's crucial to create supportive environments in workplaces where individuals feel safe to express their feelings. Open conversations about mental health can foster understanding and compassion, reducing stigma around anxiety. Moreover, seeking professional help, such as therapy, can be an invaluable resource in navigating these emotions. Incorporating stress-relief practices like mindfulness and meditation, alongside journaling, can enhance emotional resilience. As we continue the conversation about mental health, let’s strive to build communities that prioritize well-being, understanding, and growth. Remember, you are not alone in your journey; there are countless others who face similar struggles and are working towards finding their happiness.
