7 Lies I Believed That Held Me Back

I used to think growth meant pushing harder, being tougher, never making mistakes.

But the truth is… a lot of what was holding me back was happening in my own mind.

One book that helped me start rewiring my mind?

The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest.

Raw, eye-opening, and exactly what I needed when I was stuck.

Save this post if it spoke to you.

And tell me below — which lie hit you the hardest?

... Read moreIn our pursuit of personal development, we often fall victim to limiting beliefs that hinder our growth. These lies can manifest as the fear of imperfection, the guilt of resting, or the misconception that change is a negative aspect of life. For example, the lie that one must be perfect before starting can delay progress and lead to procrastination. Embracing a mindset that values progress over perfection is crucial for overall growth. Moreover, the belief that taking time to heal indicates laziness is another barrier. Recovery should be viewed as an essential process in one's life journey, allowing for rejuvenation and renewed focus. People's perception of us changing should not deter us; it’s a natural part of evolution, and true connections will support our transformation. Another critical understanding involves the idea that time is limited for healing. Rather than seeing age as a barrier, one should recalibrate their beliefs about growth. Age should never define our ability to change or heal; it’s our mindset that holds the key. Feeling stuck can also lead to misguided ideas, like thinking results should be immediate. Just like planting a seed, personal growth takes time and consistent effort before one can see visible changes. Lastly, the notion that manifestation will achieve goals without action is misleading. It’s essential to take proactive steps towards one's aspirations and dreams, as manifestation requires a commitment to follow through with effort. By recognizing these harmful perceptions and reframing them, readers can embark on a healthier journey of self-awareness and personal growth.
