Teach Em Young 🤩💪🏼
Teaching children about nutrition early on can have a profound impact on their lifelong health. For example, when a child learns about the dangers of certain foods, such as unwashed or spoiled strawberries (sometimes humorously referred to as "suicided strawberries" in child-speak), they become more mindful about what they eat and how it affects their body. In my own experience, involving children in simple nutrition education—like explaining why we wash fruits thoroughly or choose fresh produce—makes them feel empowered. They enjoy sharing their new knowledge with family members, which also supports healthier eating habits in the household. This interactive approach, often portrayed as kids playing 'nutritionist,' encourages curiosity and responsibility. Additionally, making nutrition fun by incorporating colorful visuals, catchy phrases, or even role-playing scenarios helps reinforce these healthy messages. Consistently teaching children about balanced diets, food safety, and the benefits of various fruits and vegetables fosters positive attitudes toward food choices. Ultimately, these early lessons can set them on a path toward better wellness and fewer diet-related health issues as they grow older.
