Enjoying the small things
Honestly, life has been stressful and it’s not gonna slow down. But sometimes slowing down yourself is so beneficial. Instead of sitting on your phone, the whole afternoon and doom scrolling you could go on a walk and enjoy nature. Not just any walk, a walk where you splash in the puddles look at the beautiful view enjoy the flowers and grass. Just some peace and quiet time with yourself.
I had set a goal for myself to go on a walk every day, and soon it became a chore or just another thing to check off my to do list. As I was outside today, I realized that my life doesn’t have to be a to do list. I can take it slow and enjoy it. I play in mud, splash in puddles and swing from the monkey bars. Carefree of what others think and enjoying the simplicity and beauty of this life I’ve been given.
Whether you go on a walk or do something else to take it slow, finding the meaningful moments in your life and truly enjoying them is so rewarding
I also want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus, for helping me understand that we get one life and it is just a vapor, so might as well enjoy God’s beautiful creation

You know that feeling, right? Life just keeps piling on, and before you know it, another day blurs into the next. I used to feel trapped in a constant cycle of 'what's next?' and 'what else do I need to do?' It was exhausting. My original goal was just to get outside for a walk, but it quickly became another item to check off. That's when I realized something had to change, not just in my routine, but in my mindset. It wasn't until I truly allowed myself to see what was around me that things shifted. Like really seeing the intricate patterns on a leaf, or feeling the cool dampness of the grass underfoot. One day, after a refreshing rain shower, I found myself captivated by the reflections in a puddle – the sky, the trees, even the distant buildings seemed to dance gracefully in its surface. It was a simple moment, but incredibly profound. It reminded me that beauty is everywhere if we just pause to notice, embodying the spirit of "ENJOYING THE SMALL THINGS." To really cultivate this, I started integrating specific practices. Try this: next time you're outside, pick one thing – maybe a blooming flower, a fluffy cloud, or even just the distant sound of birdsong – and focus on it for a full minute. What do you see? What do you hear? What do you feel? It’s amazing how much you miss when your mind is racing. I also began scheduling 'pause' moments. Not 'exercise' time, but 'just be' time. Sometimes it's a 15-minute walk without my phone, sometimes it's just sitting by a window with a warm cup of tea, watching the tiny plants outside. It's a non-negotiable appointment with myself. And yes, the phone. It's a huge distraction. Trying to leave it behind on walks, or at least putting it on silent and in my pocket, has been a game-changer. It helps prevent that 'doom-scrolling' spiral. After these moments of intentional presence, I often jot down what I noticed or how I felt in a small journal. It helps solidify the experience and reminds me of the peace I found. It’s like creating a mental scrapbook of all the tiny joys. This shift isn't about ignoring responsibilities; it's about changing how you approach them. When I started truly allowing myself moments of "SMALL THINGS" enjoyment, I found I had more energy, more patience, and even more creativity for the bigger tasks. My life no longer felt like a rigid checklist, but a series of moments, some challenging, some beautiful, all part of the journey. For me, the spiritual connection is deeply interwoven with this. Recognizing these small wonders as gifts, as glimpses of God's beautiful creation, adds another layer of gratitude and meaning. It's a constant reminder that we are here to experience life, not just rush through it. Whether it's the morning dew on the grass or the vibrant colors of new plants pushing through the soil, these moments are sacred. So, if you're feeling overwhelmed by the daily grind, maybe try taking a step back. Look for those small, unassuming moments of beauty and peace around you. Splash in a puddle, swing on some monkey bars if you find them! Allow yourself to be carefree, even for a little while. You might be surprised at how much joy you can unlock, simply by choosing to enjoy the small things.
