FOUR DAYS OF OVERSUPPLY!
When my birthing plan went the complete opposite of what I wanted, we had requested to receive donor milk to give myself some time to recover. Immediately, I knew that no matter what, I wanted to donate in return!
When I started breastfeeding, I never knew that I’d have an oversupply. I thought I’d just have enough to feed my baby. After about three weeks of constantly having to pumping after feeds, to emptying my fridge freeze to a deep freezer every Sunday, to not having anymore space in my deep freezer, I knew it was time to donate.
After joining pages on Facebook, to sharing on my own page and marketplace, and sharing with friends and family, I found my first family to donate to. 200oz was donated.
Eventually, after joining more groups, I found a second family. Approximately 800oz was donated.
I have found my third family to donate to!
Donating is such a wonderful thing to be able to do. If you do have an oversupply, I definitely recommend donating. Even just once.
For those who are you just making enough to feed your baby, please don’t be hard on yourself. You’re doing AMAZING!
