Come with me to graduate college in Japan

I finally graduated college after 4 long years! I technically graduated in 2023 but I postponed my ceremony so that my parents could come. They ended up not being able to come. Temple University, Japan Campus

... Read moreMy graduation day at Temple University, Japan Campus was truly a mix of emotions. After four intense but incredibly rewarding years, walking across that stage felt surreal. Even though my parents couldn't make it from overseas, the support from my friends and faculty made the day incredibly special. I still hear "TO MY GRADUATION YEAH" echoing in my mind from all the excitement! It wasn't just about getting a degree; it was about the journey, the growth, and finding my place in a new culture. Choosing a college in Japan was a huge decision for me. When I was looking at options, I considered several 'colleges in Japan,' comparing curriculums, campuses, and student life. While some friends looked into places like Kyoto University of Foreign Studies for its focus on language in a traditional setting, I was drawn to Temple University Japan's unique blend of American liberal arts education within the bustling heart of Tokyo. The idea of experiencing a dual culture education was really appealing, offering so many opportunities for internships and cultural immersion that truly enriched my four years. Life at TUJ wasn't always easy. Adapting to a new country, navigating the language barrier, and balancing rigorous academics with exploring Japan was a constant adventure. But those challenges shaped me into who I am today. I learned so much, not just in the classroom, but also through everyday interactions and weekend trips. For anyone considering studying here, I'd say embrace every moment! Look into student support services, join clubs, and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. The 'Temple University Japan logo' now symbolizes resilience, learning, and unforgettable memories for me. If you're dreaming of studying abroad in Japan, don't just focus on the big names. Research different cities – Tokyo offers a vibrant, fast-paced life, while Kyoto has a more traditional, historical charm. Each university offers a distinct experience. Make sure to check their specific programs, campus facilities, and student reviews. For instance, if you're keen on foreign languages, a school often highlighted in 'Kyoto University of Foreign Studies reviews' might be perfect, but if you want an international atmosphere with an American curriculum, TUJ is a strong contender. It's truly about finding the right fit for your academic and personal goals. My advice for prospective students? Start planning early for your visa, accommodation, and budget. Tokyo can be expensive, but there are ways to manage. Don't shy away from connecting with alumni or current students – their insights are invaluable. And remember to enjoy the cultural experiences, from attending local festivals to trying every kind of ramen you can find. My time at Temple University Japan, leading up to that graduation stage, has been one of the most transformative periods of my life. If you're pondering this path, I wholeheartedly encourage you to explore it!
