Start with your bed this season
ORANGES AND CREAMS
This is your invitation to slow down and celebrate the shift of seasons-not by doing something big, but by making small, beautiful changes that make your home feel alive with the time of year. Think bedding, throw pillows, cozy lighting, and the little touches that bring joy every time you walk into your room.
For early fall, I like to brighten things up just a little—keeping that end-of-summer freshness— then slowly transition to warmer, richer tones as the season deepens. Rusty browns, muted oranges, blacks, whites, and wood tones make everything feel grounded and cozy.
Easy Seasonal Bedding Tips:
Choose a base comforter or duvet that
works year-round, then add a seasonal blanket or quilt at the foot of the bed for a quick change.
Swap out just a few throw pillows to bring in new colors without breaking the bank (thrift stores and clearance aisles are gold for this!).
Layer textures-think knit throws, linen pillow covers, or velvet accents—to create that warm, inviting feel.
Add depth with a bed skirt, layered
pillows, or even a cozy bench at the foot of the bed.
• Use soft lighting-lamps, LED strips, or fairy lights—to bring in that soft autumn glow.
• Add a simple DIY sign or wall piece above your bed that matches the season.
• Switch curtains or add seasonal drapes
for a whole new feel (I snagged a pair of orangey-brown curtains at Goodwill, and they completely changed my space!).
It doesn't have to be complicated. A few small, intentional swaps can make your bedroom feel like a cozy reflection of the season-without spending much at all.
