Phase 3 of the menstrual cycle

1/29 Edited to

... Read morePhase 3 of the menstrual cycle, also known as the luteal phase, is a time when many women notice significant changes in their mood and energy levels. This phase typically occurs after ovulation and before the start of menstruation, lasting about 14 days. During this period, the hormone progesterone rises to prepare the body for a potential pregnancy, but this hormonal shift can also lead to symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, and sensitivity. From personal experience, I have found that managing these symptoms is key to maintaining a balanced lifestyle during this phase. Prioritizing rest and nutrition—especially foods rich in magnesium and vitamin B6—can help alleviate some of the discomfort. Gentle exercise like yoga or walking has also improved my mood and energy levels. It's important to listen to your body's signals during Phase 3. Mood swings and tiredness are common but can be addressed through mindful self-care and, if needed, consultation with a healthcare professional. Understanding the role of hormones during this phase offers insight into why these changes occur and empowers women to manage their health more effectively.
