Texas Roadhouse’s Rolls 🍞

Ingredients 📋

1 cup warm milk (110°F)

1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)

1/4 cup sugar

3 1/2 - 4 cups all-purpose flour

1 large egg

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon salt

For the Honey Cinnamon Butter:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup honey

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions 🥣

Activate the Yeast:

In a small bowl, mix warm milk and sugar, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 1/2 cups of flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and beaten egg. Mix until a soft dough forms, adding additional flour as needed.

Knead the Dough:

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Shape the Rolls:

Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut the dough into 2-inch squares or circles using a sharp knife or a biscuit cutter. Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let rise again until doubled, about 30-40 minutes.

Bake the Rolls:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Make the Honey Cinnamon Butter:

In a small bowl, combine softened butter, powdered sugar, honey, and cinnamon. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Serve:

Brush the warm rolls with melted butter and serve with the honey cinnamon butter.
