Mom life
Being a mom is already a full-time job.
Being a single mom adds another layer.
I'm not interested in unnecessary stress, confusion, or chaos anymore. If it disrupts my peace or dysregulates my nervous system, I have no problem walking away from it.
I'm protecting my peace because my son deserves the best version of me.
As a mother, especially a single mom, I’ve learned that protecting my peace is essential not just for my own well-being but also for my child's growth and happiness. The older I get, the more I value tranquility and calm because it directly impacts how present and effective I am in my role. Single motherhood often means juggling multiple responsibilities alone, which can lead to overwhelming feelings of stress and chaos. I used to think that I had to endure every stressful moment for the sake of my child, but over time I realized that unnecessary stress only drains my energy and makes it harder to care for my son fully. Walking away from toxic situations or anything that disrupts my nervous system has become a vital practice. This doesn’t mean avoidance but rather setting healthy boundaries—whether with people, commitments, or internal pressures. My top priority is preserving my mental and emotional health because when I am at peace, I can be the best version of myself for my son. It’s not easy, and the challenges are real. But embracing moments of stillness, practicing self-care, and acknowledging my limits help me maintain balance. I encourage other single moms to recognize that protecting peace is a form of strength, not selfishness. By doing so, we create a positive environment for our children and nurture our own growth as resilient, compassionate parents.
