By resisting the temptation to apply regular nail polish or acrylic enhancements, I allowed my nails to breathe and regenerate without exposure to harsh chemicals often found in many nail products. One major benefit I noticed is the reduced incidence of nail brittleness and peeling, which is often caused by long-term use of polishes and removers. Moreover, by keeping nails polish-free, I have minimized the chances of developing fungal infections, a common problem when nails are sealed tightly beneath layers of polish without proper airing. Additionally, nail health improved as the natural oils and moisture were retained better. This promoted stronger, more resilient nails that grew longer without breaking. I also became more conscious about gentle nail care practices, such as keeping nails trimmed and using nourishing cuticle oils. Mental well-being also came into play; embracing natural nails encouraged me to appreciate simple beauty and focus on maintaining healthy habits rather than just aesthetics. For anyone debating whether to forgo polish, I recommend gradually reducing polish use to give nails time to recover.
