what to do in portugal!!

i went on a three week vacation to portugal and here are my favorite must do’s if you ever take a trip to portugal! 🫶🏻

óbidos is 30 minuets out from lisbon. this beautiful town is within the castle walls of óbidos! the scenery is absolutely beautiful with flowers around every corner!! there are small little shops and restaurants! i definitely recommend going to the óbidos chocolate house (best macarons ever)

all the way down south is the beautiful algarve!! while this place is super popular i high high recommend going!! the beaches have the prettiest and clean water I have seen in comparison to new england’s beaches! while it is hot there it is beyond worth it!!

next is aveiro! this little town is known for being the venice of portugal! they have a gondola ride that goes through the river in aveiro! on each bridge in aveiro where the gondola ride goes through are ribbons on the railings of the bridges that symbolize love, friendship and goodwill!!

lastly is são martinho do porto! the port itself is shaped as a clam that goes straight into the ocean! along the board walk are several shops and restaurants! if you have the chance and the time stop at gelatomania for some gelato! i recommend having salted caramel and chocolate in either a cup or a cone!!
