Sharing 5 of my all time favorite recipes!

Ep # 5: General Tsos Chicken 🥡🍗

- 1 1/2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken thighs, cubed

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 teaspoon white sugar

- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder or cayenne pepper

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

- 1/2 packet of sazon (optional)

- 1 cup cornstarch

- Oil for frying

- Scallions, chopped, for garnish

- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Sauce:

- 1/2 cup white sugar

- 1/4 cup soy sauce

- 1/4 cup chicken broth

- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

- 2 teaspoons sesame oil

- 2 garlic cloves, minced

- Knob of fresh ginger, grated

- Scallions, chopped

- 6 whole dried red chilis

- Cornstarch slurry (2 teaspoons cornstarch + 1/4 cup water)

Directions:

1. Start by seasoning the cubed chicken with spices and cornstarch. Make sure to really pack on the cornstarch to the chicken to ensures crispness.

2. Next, make the sauce and set aside. Add oil to a hot wok and shallow fry the chicken until crispy and golden brown.

3. Drain out all but 1 tablespoon of the oil. Quickly fry the whole chilis and add the sauce. Once bubbling, add the cornstarch slurry. Simmer until thickened.

4. Add the crispy chicken back into the sauce, coat very well.

5. Finish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds. Give one final toss and serve immediately with white rice, broccoli, or sides of choice. Enjoy!
