By the time you’re on baby number 5, you get a good sense of how your body moves through labor. They say you should head to the hospital when contractions are 5 minutes apart, but I progress so quickly that I’m rushing out the door as soon as contractions start. My favorite part is seeing the triage nurse’s face when I say it’s my third, fourth, or fifth baby because she knows that I know it’s coming. One time I even gave birth before the doctor arrived. The nurse was begging me not to push and I was like, sorry! This baby is making her own decision!
