Are you overthinking and breaking your own heart?

You break your own heart because you’re addicted to the illusion of control.

You think if you feel the pain now, it won't hurt as bad later. But the body doesn't know the difference between a thought and reality. You are putting your body through a breakup that isn’t even happening.

Put the script down.

Decode your pattern at the link in bio. 🧩

... Read moreOverthinking can feel like a trap that keeps you stuck in a loop of emotional distress. From my experience, one of the hardest lessons is realizing that resisting uncertainty often leads to more pain. When you obsess over what might happen, your mind convinces your body that you are already suffering, even if the feared event hasn’t occurred yet. I found that a useful strategy is to become aware of this pattern and gently remind myself that thoughts are not facts. It helps to mentally step back and observe the thoughts instead of reacting to them. Mindfulness exercises and journaling can illuminate these unhelpful cycles. Another key insight is that the desire for control often masks a deeper fear of vulnerability. When we accept uncertainty and allow ourselves to feel without judgment, it diminishes the power of these painful thoughts. For me, putting down the metaphorical script means choosing to live in the present moment rather than rehearsing worst-case scenarios. If you find yourself repeatedly broken-hearted by imagined pain, try decoding your thought patterns. Identify triggers and ask: "Is this thought helping me or harming me?" Over time, with patience and practice, it’s possible to rewire your brain to respond with compassion rather than fear. This shift not only heals emotional wounds but also enhances overall well-being. Remember, you’re not alone in this struggle. Many people get caught in the illusion of control and learn to undo it through self-awareness and intentional action. Taking small, mindful steps can transform how you relate to yourself and your emotions, freeing you from unnecessary suffering.

💭 What are you overthinking right now? It is often helpful to write out all of the thoughts swirling and spiraling in our minds because once they’re on paper, they don’t feel as chaotic and overwhelming. We can clearly see them laid out on the page rather than jumbled up in our minds, which helps
