Estrogen is basically your body’s anti-inflammatory, joint-lubricating, and pain-buffering bestie.

When it drops and fluctuates in perimenopause inflammation goes up, joints get cranky, muscles recover slower, and your pain tolerance drops. Basically perimenopause turns ypur body’s settings to “rusty”. The good news is there are things we can do to counteract this:

1. Strength training → stabilizes joints + lowers inflammation

2. Protein → muscles + tendons need more now (aim ~25–30g/meal)

3. Estrogen support (HRT) → often dramatically improves joint pain

4. Magnesium (glycinate or threonate) → muscle pain + sleep

5. Omega-3s → calms inflammation

6. Sleep → cuz pain perception tanks when sleep tanks

7. Gentle movement (walking, yoga, mobility) = lubrication (motion is the lotion)
