Day in my life trying to be adventurous 🥹 can someone please tell me why sometimes when I try to have fun I feel guilty?
Feeling guilty when trying to have fun is something many people experience, often without fully understanding why. From my own experience, especially as a 25-year-old navigating work and social media management, I’ve noticed this guilt can stem from a few key areas. First is the internal pressure to always be productive—our society values constant achievement, making downtime feel like wasted time. Another factor is social comparison, especially through platforms like social media, where curated appearances arguably add to the pressure to 'always be working' or 'making the most of every moment.' This can lead to a disconnect between wanting adventure and feeling anxious about taking a break. For me, carrying a simple tote bag packed with essentials for the day—like a notebook or a favorite book—symbolizes little moments of self-care and recharging. It’s a small tactic I use to remind myself that moments of joy are necessary, not indulgent. If you’re feeling guilty when trying to have fun, try reframing your mindset: view leisure as essential for mental recharge and happiness. Allow yourself to plan small adventures that bring genuine joy without the pressure of expectation or comparison. Over time, embracing these moments can help ease the guilt and create a healthier balance between adventure and responsibility.
