Talking with my younger self

If I could go back and tell my younger self some things ....

I’d tell her:

You’re doing better than you think.

That one day, it will all shift.

That one day, you’ll have space again.

And even if it feels scary at first, you’ll use that space to come back to you.

... Read moreLooking back, I often catch myself wishing I could have a conversation with my younger self to share some hard-earned wisdom. For anyone struggling through tough times, like I did, it’s important to remember you’re stronger than you realize. Life can feel overwhelming and scary, especially when you face uncertainty or feel lost, but often these moments are the start of important growth. One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned is the value of creating space for yourself—both mentally and emotionally. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but giving yourself room to reflect and heal can completely shift your perspective. When I finally embraced space, it was like coming back home to my truest self. A useful way I cope with difficult days is by tagging friends or community members who might also need encouragement, like the phrase I found in a photo: "Tag someone who needs to hear this today." It reminds me that we’re never alone, and sharing support strengthens us all. No matter what stage you are in, whether you’re navigating your 20s or beyond 50—as some in the #over50club have shared—the journey to inner strength and acceptance is ongoing. So if I could speak to my younger self, I’d say: believe in your resilience, don’t be afraid of change, and trust that a better, freer space is ahead. This message of hope and strength might just be what someone else needs to hear today.

the letter to my younger self that changed my life
dear younger me, it gets better than you think. turning 25 didn't rid me of all my anxiety, poor self-esteem, and depression completely. but it gave me the invaluable life experience and wisdom to improve beyond what I thought was possible. #lemon8partner #safespace #lettertomyyounger
