healing is heavy

you weren’t just born to survive—you were born to shift the story. i know what it feels like to question everything. to wonder if you’re doing too much, if you’re asking for too much, if you should just stay quiet and keep the peace. breaking cycles will have you feeling like the bad guy. like you’re ungrateful for wanting better. like you’re the problem just because you won’t settle for the same patterns that have kept generations stuck.

the weight you’re carrying didn’t start with you, but it can end with you. but staying the same? that hurts too. i’ve done it. i’ve stayed in places that drained me, held onto relationships out of obligation, kept quiet when i should’ve spoken up. i’ve carried weight that was never mine to hold just because i didn’t want to be the one to let it go.

but God didn’t call me to stay the same. and sis, He didn’t call you to either. yes, healing is painful. yes, it’s lonely. yes, some people won’t understand. but freedom is on the other side of this. peace is on the other side of this.

healing will cost you people, but so will staying broken.. and if you have to be the one to start the change, so be it. because the version of you that’s healed, whole, and walking in everything God has for you?
