Still craving for some affordable seafood, we saw an elderly uncle eating steam promfret. The fish is big for a person, looks really good & you can see the satisfaction on uncle's face! Uncle was seated near /Hanjiang Seafood Square 韩江海鲜坊.
The stall was very neat & clean. We ordered the steam promfret. At 💰 $8.50, it's a fish, rice & a bowl of soup. As my friends wanted to eat claypot rice at another stall, I told lady boss that we'll just have the fish.
The steaming took a while, about 15min, good food needs cooking time. Lady boss pack the fish & even gave me extra sauce. She told me to pour the extra sauce onto the fish, when I eat it.
The fish was PERFECT! The sauce is hongkong style, light, not sweet nor salty, but strikes at a perfect cord with your palette. A piece of fish, dipped in the sauce, into your mouth, it just melt in your mouth. I feel so blissful to be able to chance upon this perfect promfret.
