Holy Week! Monday
Everyone is welcome in the church. We want to be changed by the Lord Jesus Christ. We worship our Lord Jesus Christ with humility, grace, kindness, truthfulness, and sincerity.
For without honesty in kindness, we cannot truly connect with others or show them the love they need.
Matthew 21:12-17
1. What idols and false worship are holding you back from Jesus?
2. How should we become more like children in our worship?
For me fears & anxiety definitely hold me back. I need to just focus on trusting God over my fears & anxious thoughts. Also learning to stick up for myself more. But do so with kindness, humility and truth. For without honesty it is not kind or sincere.
I think that we should worship with more humility, kindness, and honesty. Simple acts of service and genuine compassion. To judge less. (Which is hard at times especially if someone is doing something not very smart)
Holy Week offers a profound time to reflect on our relationship with Jesus Christ, especially focusing on personal transformation and sincere worship. One powerful aspect that resonates deeply is the idea of Jesus coming not just to challenge external practices but to cleanse our hearts, as highlighted in the image quote: "Jesus didn't just flip tables... He came to flip hearts, to cleanse what we've allowed inside. And still, He comes with grace- not to shame, but to heal, not to reject, but to restore." This message reminds me that true worship is less about outward rituals and more about internal honesty and humility before God. Often, fears and anxieties cloud our ability to fully surrender and trust in Jesus’ transformative power. I have personally struggled with anxious thoughts that create barriers in my spiritual life. However, by intentionally focusing on trust instead of fear, I’ve found moments of peace and clarity that deepen my connection to God. Another important takeaway is learning to worship with the simplicity and humility of a child. Children approach worship without pretense or judgment, offering pure love and acceptance. Emulating this attitude can help us shed pride and embrace kindness and truthfulness as core values in our faith journey. Moreover, worship extends beyond personal devotion. Simple acts of kindness and service towards others become a form of worship when done with honesty and compassion. Judging others less and making space for genuine connection can transform church communities into welcoming places of grace and restoration. In summary, Holy Week Monday challenges us to evaluate what idols or false worship might be holding us back and encourages surrendering those through sincere, humble worship. Embracing grace and truth in this way allows us to experience healing and restoration just as Jesus intended.
