The governor of the BMA welcomed the youth of Seoul, strengthened the sister-cultural exchange city, and introduced "questioning" as the heart of learning.
The governor of Bangkok, along with the administration of Bangkok, Mr. Bhikok Simarojn, the secretary of the governor of Bangkok, Ms. Phitchai Thongart, the director of the Education Bureau, and Mrs. Jirabhadra Pung History, the director of the Urban Relations Promotion Section, the Foreign Affairs Agency, welcomed the delegation and 35 youth of Seoul, the Republic of Korea, led by Mr. Jeon Sung Woo, the director of the Seoul Youth Center for Cultural Exchange, at Ampiman, the Bangkok City Hall (swing pole), the metropolitan area.
"Bangkok welcomes all of us. Have a good experience from our visit to Bangkok and look forward to exchanging cultures of knowledge." The governor of Bangkok welcomed and gave a thought to the youth, stressing the importance of learning for the younger generation: "The younger generation must be curious, and questions must always be questioned, because if not suspected, there will be no change. Being curious and enthusiastic questions is the most important thing to learn and study the world and cities."
The governor of the BMA also prepared a joint interaction and learning activity, playing a general question-and-answer game about Bangkok and Seoul to test the cognition of the culture and basic information of the two cities, such as the population of the two cities (about 10 million), the year the two cities established their relationship as sister cities (2006), a landmark in Bangkok comparable to Seoul's Myeongdong, etc.
Then, the governor of Bangkok presented memorabilia including a set of Bangkok dishes and shirts with Thai elephant pants (Bangkok Brand) to all 35 young people.
For the delegation's visit to Bangkok and the Seoul Youth, it follows the program to build a multicultural society with sister cities (Youth Exchange with Seoul, 2026, Seoul Youth Faculty Welcoming). The program is organized to strengthen the good relationship between Bangkok and Seoul, which has had a long-standing sister city relationship since 2006, as well as to promote cultural arts learning exchanges and enhance experiences for the youth of both cities.
The youth group will be in Bangkok from 27 to 31 October 2025 for learning activities at various locations in Bangkok such as the Bangkok name tag and swing pole that symbolize Bangkok, learn nature and environment at Lumbini Park, learn Thai cultural arts such as Thai dance, Muay Thai artifacts at the Centre for All Ages, Lumbini Park, learn Thai history and culture at key locations such as the Dawn Rama Temple, Rajasthan Cathedral, Musiam Siam, explore the city by taking information to organize group activities and present Thai cultural arts topics. The youth will be divided into 3 groups to explore different areas. Group 1 Dusit Central Park, Group 2 at Jatuchak Park and Bangkok Children's Museum, Group 1 (Jatuchak), Group 3 at Bangkok Cultural Arts Hall, and Learn Nature and Environment at Safari World
การแลกเปลี่ยนเยาวชนระหว่างกรุงเทพมหานครและกรุงโซลในครั้งนี้นับเป็นโอกาสที่ดีในการเรียนรู้และเข้าใจวัฒนธรรมของกันและกันอย่างลึกซึ้งขึ้น โดยเฉพาะในยุคที่โลกมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็ว การส่งเสริมความอยากรู้อยากเห็น (Curiosity) และการตั้งคำถามในคนรุ่นใหม่ถือเป็นสิ่งสำคัญในการพัฒนาศักยภาพทางปัญญาและการสร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลงเชิงบวกต่อสังคม ตลอดระยะเวลาการจัดกิจกรรม เยาวชนได้มีโอกาสสัมผัสกับวิถีชีวิตประจำวันและสถานที่สำคัญของกรุงเทพฯ เช่น สวนลุมพินี ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่สีเขียวกลางเมืองที่ช่วยรักษาสมดุลทางธรรมชาติ และเป็นที่นิยมสำหรับพักผ่อนและออกกำลังกาย นอกจากนี้ยังได้เรียนรู้ศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย เช่น รำไทย งานประดิษฐ์ และมวยไทย ที่ศูนย์สร้างสุขทุกวัย สวนลุมพินี ซึ่งเป็นลักษณะกิจกรรมที่ช่วยสร้างการรับรู้ถึงความสวยงามของวัฒนธรรมไทยที่ยังคงรักษาไว้ได้อย่างดี การทดสอบความรู้ผ่านเกมถาม-ตอบเกี่ยวกับข้อมูลพื้นฐานของกรุงเทพฯ และกรุงโซล ช่วยให้เยาวชนสามารถเข้าใจความคล้ายคลึงและความแตกต่างของสองเมืองนี้ ทั้งเรื่องจำนวนประชากรที่ประมาณ 10 ล้านคน และความสัมพันธ์เมืองพี่เมืองน้องที่เริ่มตั้งแต่ปี 2006 อีกทั้งยังช่วยกระตุ้นให้เกิดความสนใจในการศึกษาต่อเกี่ยวกับเมืองอื่น ๆ และการเรียนรู้วิถีชีวิตในต่างประเทศอย่างมีแบบแผน อย่างไรก็ดี กิจกรรมครั้งนี้ยังเชื่อมโยงไปถึงการสำรวจและสัมผัสกับพื้นที่หลากหลาย เช่น สวนลอยฟ้า Dusit Central Park, สวนจตุจักร, พิพิธภัณฑ์เด็ก และหอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร รวมถึง Safari World เพื่อเปิดประสบการณ์หลากหลายมิติของเมืองกรุงเทพฯ ซึ่งเป็นการส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้อย่างครอบคลุมทั้งด้านธรรมชาติ ศิลปวัฒนธรรม และประวัติศาสตร์ การแลกเปลี่ยนครั้งนี้ช่วยสร้างมิตรภาพและความเข้าใจระหว่างเยาวชนไทยและเกาหลีใต้ โดยเป็นการเตรียมเยาวชนให้พร้อมรับมือในโลกที่เปลี่ยนแปลงรวดเร็ว พร้อมยึดมั่นในความสามัคคีและความเคารพในความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรม ซึ่งจะเป็นรากฐานสำคัญสำหรับการพัฒนาเมืองที่ยั่งยืนในอนาคต
