BMA - MPC Elevate City Safety, Forward Integrated Fire Head Information System, Solve 258 Additional Installation Dislocation-Accelerate Coordinates, According to MOA
The deputy governor of Bangkok and the deputy governor of the metropolitan waterworks, Suthep Suthek, co-convened the development of fire hydrant information between the metropolitan waterworks (BMA) and Bangkok.
The meeting held discussions and joint deliberations on the issue of fire hydrant installations in accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOA), the data connection between the systems of the MPC and the BMA, the resolution of fire hydrant usage and sluice chests, and the amount of water consumption from fire stations.
With regard to the installation of fire hydrants in accordance with the MOA, 258 points are scheduled to be installed, and the period of the MOA will end on July 13, 2026. The meeting discussed the delay in the commencement of operations due to spending constraints on the BMA's budget that cannot be spent on other agencies even for public affairs. Therefore, the installation of such fire hydrants requires the revision of the BMA's provisions. As a result of the progress now, the draft revision of the provisions has entered the process of consideration in the third round and is expected to be introduced into the BMA Council. By January 2026, the meeting ordered the two agencies to jointly prepare a detailed implementation plan and documentation procedure (Journey) to allow the installation process to begin quickly and without delays.
With regard to the data connection between the BMA and BMA systems, the main problem was that the number and location of fire hydrant coordinates did not match, with some points exceeding 5 meters in error, which may be caused by different survey methods. The meeting ordered a team to be organized together to check the coordinates at the error points to obtain accurate, accurate and clear information.
Regarding the problem of defective fire hydrants, such as missing lids, waterless or inoperable fire hydrants, the meeting agreed to use the Traffy Fondue system as the main means of notification so that the MPC can more easily monitor corrections.
As regards the amount of water consumption from the fire station, the NCPO informed that it had received a report of the fire from the BMA and had taken the data to calculate the mission's water consumption. The NCPO intended that the BMA identify the number of the fire hydrant in the fire report to facilitate the recording of the amount of water used each time.
In addition to the main points above, the meeting also discussed the possibility of integrating the roadmap information of other public utility agencies, such as MEA, so that different agencies can work together in the same area, reducing the impact on the public.
On this day, there are executives and representatives of Bangkok-affiliated agencies: the Fiscal Bureau, the Disaster Prevention and Relief Bureau, the Bangkok Budget Bureau, the Digital Bureau, the Urban Planning and Development Bureau, the Law and Case Office, along with executives and agency representatives in the Metropolitan Water Authority and related parties, in attendance at the Pirat Convention Hall, the Tharakorn Net Building, the Metropolitan Water Authority, the Headquarters, the Four Main Districts.
