Phu Pha National Park is a plateau alternating with sandstone mountain ranges, with a height of 300-600 meters above sea level. The mountain range has a turtle back plain about 10 kilometers long, surrounded by steep mountains as the main streams of many rivers, flowing into the Phu Phong River, Huai Bang Sai, Huai Lao and various reservoirs, which cover Phu Phu Phan District, Kok Si Suphan District, Tao Noi District, Muang Muang Province, Sakon Nakhon Nakhon District and Dong Luang District, Kam Chai District, Mukdahan Province, with an area of about 828.56 square kilometers.
Phuat National Park has seasonal weather, the rainy season, the rainy season, the May-October, the winter, the November-January, and the summer, the February-April period, which is the rainy season, the rainy season with cool weather, and is suitable for seeing the sea of fog.

ถ้าใครกำลังหาโลเคชันธรรมชาติในสกลนครที่ไปแล้วได้ทั้งวิว “อ่างเก็บน้ำ” มุมกว้างๆ กับป่าเขียวๆ แบบสบายตา อุทยานแห่งชาติภูผายล (หลายคนพิมพ์หาเป็น “ภูผา ยล” ก็เจอเหมือนกัน) เป็นที่ที่เหมาะกับทริปครอบครัวมาก โดยเฉพาะพาแม่ไปเดินเล่น สูดอากาศบริสุทธิ์ ไม่ต้องทำกิจกรรมหนักๆ ก็ได้รูปสวยกลับมาแน่นอน มุมที่เราชอบสุดคือจุดชมวิวบนโขดหิน/มุมสูงที่มองลงไปเห็นอ่างเก็บน้ำสีฟ้าใส ล้อมด้วยป่าไม้เขียวขจี วันฟ้าเปิดนี่ภาพออกมาสดมาก อีกจุดที่ควรแวะคือระเบียงไม้ชมวิว เดินขึ้นไม่ยาก เหมาะกับผู้ใหญ่เพราะมีจุดให้หยุดพักและยืนดูวิวได้นานๆ แนะนำพกน้ำดื่มติดตัว และใส่รองเท้าผ้าใบหรือรองเท้ากันลื่น เพราะช่วงหน้าฝนพื้นอาจชื้นลื่นได้ ถ้าตั้งใจไปช่วงสิงหาคม–ตุลาคม (หน้าฝน) บรรยากาศจะเย็นสบายกว่าที่คิด และเป็นช่วงที่มีโอกาสเห็น “ทะเลหมอก” ได้ดี โดยเฉพาะเช้าตรู่หลังฝนตกคืนก่อนหน้า ทริคของเราคือเช็กพยากรณ์อากาศล่วงหน้า เลือกวันที่ฝนไม่หนักมาก แล้วออกจากที่พักเช้าๆ จะมีโอกาสเจอหมอกสวยๆ มากขึ้น ใครอยากค้างคืน ที่นี่มีบรรยากาศแคมป์ปิ้งดีมาก กางเต็นท์บนสนามหญ้าใกล้ริมน้ำได้ฟีลสงบๆ ตื่นเช้ามาเจออากาศดีและวิวธรรมชาติแบบเต็มตา ก่อนกางเต็นท์แนะนำเช็กกติกา/พื้นที่ที่อนุญาตกับเจ้าหน้าที่อีกครั้ง และเตรียมไฟฉาย ยากันยุง เสื้อกันฝนบางๆ ไปด้วย (หน้าฝนสำคัญมาก) การเดินทางโดยรวมสามารถขับจากตัวเมืองสกลนครตามเส้นทางไปทางเต่างอย แล้วเข้าพื้นที่อุทยานฯ ได้สะดวก แต่ควรเผื่อเวลา เพราะบางช่วงเป็นทางขึ้นลงและอาจมีฝน ทำให้ขับช้าลงเล็กน้อย ถ้าพาแม่ไป เน้นเที่ยวแบบไม่รีบ แวะชมวิวอ่างเก็บน้ำ ถ่ายรูปที่ระเบียงไม้ แล้วค่อยเลือกกิจกรรมเบาๆ อย่างเดินชมธรรมชาติ ก็เป็นทริปที่อบอุ่นและได้ความทรงจำดีๆ กลับบ้านแน่นอน
