How much iodine I take

Iodine is so important and is so good for you. It helps you detox, helps fight cancer, insures your cells have adequate amounts for your body to function properly, helps lower thyroid antibodies, helps thyroid function, helps shrink cyst, shrink nodules, cures goiter, cures fibrocystic breast, and its antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial. It has so many benefits and they have you scared to take it and there is no way we can get adequate amounts through food. You just pee out the excess so nothing to be afraid of.

... Read moreFrom my personal experience exploring iodine supplementation, it quickly became clear how crucial this nutrient is for overall health, especially for those on restrictive diets like carnivore. I initially worried about overdosing, but after researching and carefully adjusting my intake, I noticed significant improvements in my energy and thyroid function. One key insight is that iodine has multifaceted benefits: it supports thyroid hormone production, helps reduce harmful antibodies, and promotes detoxification. I also appreciated that iodine’s antimicrobial properties can assist in balancing the body’s natural flora. However, since iodine is water-soluble, excess amounts are typically expelled in urine, lowering risk of toxicity when consumed within reasonable limits. When starting supplementation, I began with a very low dosage—around 150 micrograms per day, aligning with the recommended dietary allowance—and gradually increased while monitoring how my body responded. It’s important to note that the optimal dosage can vary depending on individual factors like existing thyroid conditions or exposure to iodine-deficient environments. For those on a carnivore diet, natural iodine sources may be limited, making supplementation even more valuable. Seaweed and iodized salt are common dietary sources, but in my diet, these were not prevalent. Supplementing helped me avoid symptoms of deficiency such as fatigue, brain fog, and dry skin. Additionally, I found that consistent iodine intake supported hormone balance and helped reduce occasional thyroid nodules I had developed. Lastly, consulting with a healthcare provider before beginning iodine supplementation is critical, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid diseases or take thyroid medication. They can guide appropriate dosage and testing to prevent adverse effects. Overall, iodine is a powerful nutrient that supports numerous bodily functions. With responsible use and awareness, you can safely harness iodine’s benefits and support optimal health on any diet.
