「水耕栽培のおすすめ野菜」を探してるなら、まずは“薬味系”が本当に向いてると感じました。私が試したのは、ペットボトルで育てられる「ボトルDEガーデン ~和み~」のキット（しそ／薄荷／わさび菜／三つ葉の4種類）。どれが出ても料理に使いやすいし、葉物みたいに大きく育てなくても“少し採れたら元が取れる”のがありがたいです。 おすすめ理由は3つあって、①生育が早めで変化が見えやすい、②収穫量が少なくても満足度が高い、③室内でも香りが立ってテンションが上がる、です。特にしそ（大葉）は、ちょこっとあるだけで冷奴・そうめん・納豆・おにぎりが一気にレベルアップ。薄荷はアイスや炭酸水に入れたり、気分転換のハーブティーにしたりと使い道が多いです。わさび菜はサラダや肉料理の付け合わせにするとピリッとアクセント、三つ葉はお吸い物・卵とじ・親子丼に相性抜群でした。 育てるときのコツも少し。水耕栽培は「水を入れすぎない」が大事で、根が呼吸できるように水位は控えめにするのが失敗しにくかったです。あと、窓辺でもOKだけど“明るい日陰〜半日陰”くらいが葉がきれいに出やすい印象。真夏の直射日光は水温が上がって傷みやすいので、室内の明るい場所に置いて、こまめに水を替えるとニオイも出にくいです。 「水耕栽培で何育てる？」って迷う人ほど、まずは薬味4種みたいな小さく始められるおすすめ野菜からが楽しいと思います。収穫したら一気に切らず、使う分だけハサミで外側の葉から少しずつ取ると長持ちしやすかったです。私みたいに“しそ当たり”でも大満足なので、気軽にチャレンジしてみてください。
