If you’re a fan of classic chocolate chip cookies and want to perfect your baking skills, this recipe offers a great foundation. One of the keys to achieving that iconic chewy texture is the combination of both white and brown sugars, which balances moisture and sweetness. Using softened butter helps cream the sugars effectively to create the right cookie base. When mixing the baking soda with hot water before adding it to the batter, it ensures even distribution, which helps the cookies rise just enough to stay soft inside with crisp edges. For an extra flavor boost and textural contrast, the addition of chopped walnuts complements the semisweet chocolate chips perfectly. If you prefer a nut-free version, simply omit the walnuts or replace them with your favorite nuts or seeds like pecans or sunflower seeds. Also, chilling the cookie dough for 30 minutes to an hour before baking can intensify the flavors and help control cookie spreading. Baking at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes produces golden edges while keeping the centers soft; however, ovens may vary, so it's a good idea to check a minute or two before the suggested time. Allow the cookies to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack; this helps them set properly and prevents crumbling. For those who enjoy experimenting, consider mixing in different types of chocolate (dark, milk, or white chocolate chips) or adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking to elevate the sweet and salty contrast. These homemade chocolate chip cookies are perfect for family gatherings, holiday treats, or simply as a comforting snack with a glass of milk or your favorite coffee. By mastering this detailed recipe and tips, you’ll be able to impress friends and family with the best chocolate chip cookies ever—soft, rich, and irresistibly delicious every time.

OK PEEPS!!! Here is the recipe... They don't look like the original.. But that's totally ok. They were baked for about 12-14 mins at 350. And to me... 2 tsp is too much vanilla. Over all its yummy...
