HELP ME GIRLIES! (First home edition)

My lovely boyfriend and I moved into our first home together this year. We’re both 19 (or soon to be 19 in my case) and we have a cat together. My best friend is equally currently living with us as she was originally in a college dorm but with summer she had to find somewhere to stay (her family’s house was crowded).

Currently my best friend is the one doing all the cleaning and I feel horrible because my boyfriend and I aren’t good at cleaning or keeping up with it.

We leave dishes and bags of fast food everywhere, like I can’t even get out on my side or his side of the bed. We also have our clothes everywhere on our bedroom floor. It sucks. I want to change that though.

I need help from all the powerful women out there! Girl to girl, how can I fix this?

I have severe ADHD and my boyfriend struggles with disorders as well (privacy reasons I will not disclose). He works every day 7-5 while I have a part time job that’s every two weeks. Keeping a schedule might be hard but I would love to find one that works for us.

If you have any advice, please comment it! I know it’s disastrous and messy but we needed our own space from our parents houses (especially because I stayed at both of my parents houses and my dad wasn’t comfortable with him sleeping over). I want to make this a clean house and even have plants to help purify the air (if you know any that are low maintenance, comment!) so truly anything helps!

I’m also trying to find ways to eat healthier and not eat out as much, so recipes that will be easy to make and not that high in price would be awesome as well.

We’re both still figuring out this life thing and are working together on making this our home, if you have any criticism please at least be kind and respectful about it. I said before I know it’s messy. We’re young but want to make it all work.
