China Food I've tried in SG

Singapore
1/24 Edited to

... Read moreIf you're a fan of Chinese cuisine, especially the vibrant flavors found in dishes like Suan Cai Yu and Malatang, Singapore offers a fascinating variety to explore. From my personal visits, I’ve noticed how establishments like Little Pond serve their Suan Cai Yu with a perfect balance of sour and spicy, truly showcasing why this dish is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. For those intrigued by malatang’s diverse flavor bases, the tomato soup option stands out to me. Unlike the more common spicy broth, tomato soup offers a slightly sweet and tangy taste that feels comforting and rich. My favorite is the one served at Yang Guo Fu, where the tomato broth complements the fresh ingredients beautifully. While trying various stores, I appreciated Chuan Tai Zi’s affordable yet satisfying fried rice and malatang broth that delivers authentic flavors without breaking the bank. In contrast, some places like Zhangliang offer premium versions, although I found that their malatang could be a bit overwhelming, sometimes causing sore throats due to heavy spice levels. If you're new to these dishes, I’d recommend starting with milder broths and gradually experimenting with stronger flavors. Also, consider visiting Hu's Fei Da Chu for quick meals that are convenient yet flavorful, though some versions can be watered down compared to others. Overall, the key to enjoying the best Chinese food in Singapore lies in exploring multiple spots and finding your personal favorites—each has its own twist on traditional recipes that reflect both local preferences and authentic influences.
