Figure Skating Update

Starting figure skating as an adult has been an incredibly rewarding experience. When I began three months ago, I never imagined I'd progress this quickly to the Adult 3 level, especially while balancing other life commitments. Training consistently has been key—attending regular classes helped me improve my technique steadily. Each session is a mix of practicing jumps, spins, and footwork, which are all fundamental elements in competitions. I also learned that mental preparation is just as important as physical training; staying calm under pressure is critical during performances. One memorable moment was mastering a challenging spin that initially felt impossible. Overcoming these hurdles boosted my confidence and kept me motivated to push further. Besides the technical skills, I've connected with fantastic coaches and fellow skaters, creating a supportive community that uplifts each other. For those considering starting figure skating later in life, remember it’s never too late! Start with beginner classes to build a strong foundation and gradually move up. Watching competition videos and setting small goals can keep your progress on track. My upcoming competition next week is both exciting and nerve-wracking, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come and eager to showcase my hard work on the ice.
