January reading recap 📖💕

This was an AMAZING first month of reading... it's been so cold and gross, all I have done is read. These were my ratings based on how I could score in my storygraph app, however, The Raven Scholar, The Ascended, Arcana Academy and The Night Prince should get a million stars.... I was obsessed with these books.

January was a perfect month for me to indulge in some serious reading, especially with the cold and dreary weather keeping me indoors. I found that immersing myself in captivating stories was not just a way to pass the time, but also an incredible escape from the harsh winter. Among the books I enjoyed, titles like The Raven Scholar, The Ascended, Arcana Academy, and The Night Prince truly stood out and deserve special mention. Each of these books offers a unique blend of fantasy, suspense, and richly developed characters that kept me hooked. The Raven Scholar, for instance, has a primal intensity and an immersive world-building style that makes it unforgettable. Similarly, The Ascended and Arcana Academy provide a perfect mix of magic, intrigue, and emotional depth which makes them incredibly hard to put down. I kept track of my readings using the StoryGraph app, which helped me evaluate and rate each book thoughtfully. It was interesting to see how the ratings aligned with my emotional engagement with the stories. For example, the books I cherished the most all scored exceptionally well in the app, reflecting their impact. Additionally, I explored books across various categories like classics, graphic novels, poetry, and even LGBTQ+ themes, which enriched my literary experience. Engaging with diverse genres and authors broadened my perspective and brought new excitement to my reading journey. If you're looking for some winter reading recommendations, these titles are a great place to start. Whether you enjoy intense fantasy sagas or heartfelt narratives, this collection has something to offer. The joy of reading during a cold month was truly amplified by these wonderful books, and I hope my experience encourages you to discover your own favorites.
