... Read moreIf you only have one day to explore Lisbon, it’s important to prioritize the city’s most iconic sights and experiences. Start your morning at Praça do Comércio, a stunning riverside square where you can admire classic Portuguese architecture and feel the pulse of the city. From there, take a walk or tram ride to the Alfama district, known for its narrow, winding streets and breathtaking views over the Tagus River. Don't miss the historic São Jorge Castle, perched atop the highest hill, offering panoramic vistas that are perfect for photos. For lunch, indulge in traditional Portuguese cuisine—try a pastel de nata from a local bakery and sample fresh seafood dishes. After eating, explore the vibrant neighborhoods of Bairro Alto and Chiado, where you can find charming cafes, boutique shops, and street art. As afternoon turns to evening, consider visiting the LX Factory, a trendy hub of restaurants, galleries, and shops housed in a former industrial complex. While weather can be unpredictable, Lisbon’s mild climate means you can enjoy outdoor activities most of the year. Dressing in layers is advisable to stay comfortable. Although one day is not enough to uncover all Lisbon’s treasures, this itinerary efficiently covers cultural landmarks, authentic food, and lively neighborhoods. Whether it’s a quick stop or the start of a longer Portugal adventure, Lisbon’s warm spirit and scenic beauty are sure to leave a lasting impression. Planning ahead and focusing your time will ensure that even a short visit can be both enjoyable and memorable.

Lisbon is probably the most popular city in Portugal, which makes sense because it is the capital, but it also has so much history & many cool things to do! 💛 While there were plenty of things I thought were cool, here are 3 places in Lisbon that left me speechless: 1. Pink Street 2.

Best day trip from Lisbon
One of the best things we did while visiting Lisbon was taking a day trip to Sintra and Cabo da Roca. Sintra is only 40 minutes from Lisbon, but it feels like a completely different world. Hilltop palaces, misty forests, whimsical gardens, and some of the most unique architecture in Portugal.
