Cheat Meal Saturdays w/ @Fatboysburrito
Haven't had Fat Boys in so long I forgot how big there portions were. I couldn't even imagine myself eating that whole burrito let alone the bowl I got. Able to only eat a 1/8 of it feeling like I went to the buffet.
Feeling satisfied after that little amount is still crazy after having the sleeve done almost 3 years ago. It's all about balance. Yes there gonna be cheat meals, and days when you don't eat as much and days when you feel like you ate a little too much but that's all apart of the journey.

After nearly three years since my gastric sleeve surgery, I’ve come to truly appreciate the importance of balance when it comes to cheat meals. Visiting Fat Boys Burrito was a great reminder of how substantial restaurant portions can be, especially for someone like me who’s had their stomach size significantly reduced. I was honestly amazed when I could only eat about one-eighth of my burrito bowl, yet still felt incredibly full — the feeling was almost like hitting an all-you-can-eat buffet but without overindulging. What I’ve learned through this process is that cheat meals don’t have to mean completely losing control or feeling guilty afterward. Instead, it’s about embracing those moments of enjoyment without abandoning your overall goals. After surgery, your capacity changes, which can make large portions daunting, but it’s also an opportunity to savor your food more mindfully. When I order from places like Fat Boys, known not only for their generous servings but also their rich flavors, I plan ahead. I might share a meal, opt for a bowl instead of a burrito, or save leftovers for another meal. This approach helps me avoid waste and keeps my nutrition on track. It’s also essential to acknowledge that everyone’s weight loss journey includes ups and downs. Some days you might eat less, while others you might feel like you’ve overindulged. What matters is the overall pattern and commitment to your health. If you’re considering cheat meals post-gastric sleeve or similar weight loss surgery, here are a few personal tips: 1. Start slow and listen to your fullness cues carefully. 2. Choose meals that you truly crave but in manageable portions. 3. Don’t hesitate to ask for smaller portions or to pack leftovers. 4. Hydrate well and avoid drinking large amounts of liquid right before or during your meal to maximize your stomach capacity. 5. Remember that occasional treats are part of a sustainable lifestyle, not a threat to your progress. Ultimately, enjoying your favorite foods like Fat Boys Burrito can still be part of your life after weight loss surgery, as long as you maintain balance and listen to your body’s needs.
