IS IT TIME WE BEGAN WEENING OURSELVES OFF TECH?

Welcome to Life Thoughts Coaching!

Is now the right time to reduce our reliance on technology? We should spend more time talking to people face-to-face or, heaven forbid, on the telephone. You do remember that your handheld computer is also a telephone, right?

I suggest that if you don’t already, you should start reading actual books and go shopping for items instead of ordering them online. Yes, it is convenient, but what is it doing to your mind?

My question to you is this: Are we better off with or without technology controlling so much of our lives?

I have your back!

As always, be nice, be safe, and laugh a lot.

Thank you for sharing my videos and helping me reach and add value to more people!

While it brings undeniable convenience, it’s equally important to consider whether our heavy dependence on screens and digital devices might be affecting our well-being and interpersonal relationships. Taking deliberate steps to reduce reliance on technology can bring meaningful improvements to both mental health and social interaction. One key benefit of stepping back from technology is the enhancement of face-to-face communication. Unlike texts and social media interactions, in-person conversations allow us to connect on a deeper level through body language, tone, and immediate responses. Replacing screen time with talking on the telephone or meeting friends and family in person can revive those essential social bonds. Another often overlooked aspect is the joy and cognitive stimulation that comes from reading physical books. Unlike scrolling through digital content, reading printed books demands focused attention, reduces eye strain, and helps improve memory retention. It also allows for a tactile experience that many find calming and satisfying. Additionally, shopping in local stores rather than exclusively ordering online has multiple benefits. It supports local businesses, encourages meaningful interactions with vendors, and creates opportunities to explore and experience products firsthand, which can be more fulfilling than simply clicking to buy. Balancing technology use doesn’t mean rejecting digital tools altogether. Instead, it's about mindful usage—recognizing when tech serves us and when it might control us. Small lifestyle changes such as designating no-phone times, prioritizing human interaction, and engaging in offline hobbies can create a healthier relationship with technology. Ultimately, questioning whether we are better off with or without technology controlling so much of our lives invites us to reflect on what quality of life truly means to each of us. By consciously weaning ourselves off tech dependency, we can cultivate richer experiences, build stronger connections, and nurture our minds more effectively.
