When you’re in the middle of a hard season, it’s almost impossible to see any good in it. The betrayal. The closed door. The loss. The setback. In the moment, it only feels like damage.
But here is what I’ve learned after nearly six decades of living:
What I thought would break me often built me. What I thought would stop me often redirected me.
Looking back, I can see God’s fingerprints all over the seasons that once confused me. The very things I begged Him to remove became the things that shaped me. The detours I resented led me exactly where I needed to be. The “no” I didn’t understand was protecting me from something I couldn’t see.
Romans 8:28 doesn’t say all things ARE good. Some things are painful and unfair. But it promises that God works all things together for good for those who love Him. He’s the Master Weaver, and He wastes nothing — not your pain, not your detours, not even your mistakes.
So here is your Thursday reflection: the chapter you’re in right now is not the final chapter. What feels like it’s breaking you may be building you. What feels like it’s stopping you may be redirecting you.
Trust the Weaver. He’s still working. 🟢

... Read moreIn my own journey through challenging seasons, I've found that embracing the difficult moments has been transformative. Often, what initially feels like a setback—whether a closed door, a painful loss, or an unexpected detour—holds hidden opportunities for growth and deeper understanding.
One thing that resonates deeply with me is the idea that God wastes nothing. I recall times when I faced what seemed to be insurmountable obstacles, similar to those described in Coach Robert E. Hardy's reflection. At the time, it was hard to see any purpose, and the feelings of betrayal or frustration were overwhelming. Yet, looking back, those very experiences became catalysts that shaped my resilience and character in profound ways.
The verse Romans 8:28 offers a powerful reminder: while not everything that happens is good, God can weave these events together for a greater good. This perspective helped me reframe my struggles as part of a larger narrative rather than isolated failures. It encouraged me to pause, reflect, and recalibrate—just as Coach Hardy suggests—to recognize that the pain serves a purpose beyond immediate understanding.
Living by this belief encourages patience and trust in divine timing. It’s not always easy, but by viewing difficulties as refining processes, I’ve learned to welcome growth rather than resist hardship. Redirected paths can lead to unexpected blessings, new opportunities, and stronger faith.
If you're facing a tough season, take a moment to pause. Reflect on your journey and consider that the very things you find most challenging might be building a foundation for a new chapter. Trust that your struggles are not wasted, and the Master Weaver is crafting a story that honors your unique path and purpose.
Remember, you're not alone in your experience. Many have walked this road before and emerged stronger. Lean into the support of community, faith, and self-compassion as you navigate your current season. The transformation comes not despite the challenges but often because of them.
