Spicy Orange Chicken

Crispy, sweet, and just the right amount of heat 🔥🍊 This Spicy Orange Chicken is golden-fried perfection tossed in a sticky, zesty sauce you’ll want to put on everything!

Ingredients

For the chicken:

• 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces and cleaned

• Salt, pepper, and garlic powder (to taste)

• 1 egg

• 1 tbsp mustard

• 2 tbsp cornstarch

• All-purpose flour (enough to coat chicken)

• Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the sauce:

• ½ cup orange marmalade

• 1 tbsp soy sauce

• ¼ cup brown sugar

• 1 tbsp honey

• Chili flakes (to taste)

• ⅓ cup rice vinegar

• 1 tsp minced ginger

• 1 tsp minced garlic

Instructions

1. Prepare the chicken

• Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

• In a bowl, whisk together egg, mustard, and cornstarch. Add chicken and mix to coat.

• Dredge coated chicken pieces in all-purpose flour until fully covered.

2. Fry the chicken

• Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat.

• Fry chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

3. Make the spicy orange sauce

• In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine orange marmalade, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, chili flakes, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic.

4. Combine & serve
