Daily Devotional: Living in God's Peace
Peace is something the world talks about often, but rarely understands. Most people define peace as the absence of problems. But God defines peace as His presence in the middle of them.
You can have chaos around you and still have calm within you.
God's peace is not fragile. It is not dependent on circumstance, people, or outcomes. It is rooted in trust.
Isaiah tells us that "perfect peace" belongs to the one whose mind is "stayed" on God; fixed, anchored, unmoved.
That means peace is not something you chase...it is something you choose.
Every anxious thought, every fearful "what if," every moment of uncertainty is an opportunity to either lean into worry or return your mind to God.
The more your thoughts dwell on Him:
- His promises.
- His faithfulness
- His sovereignty
The more peace becomes your dwelling place.
If your peace feels unstable, it may not be because life is too heavy; it may be because your focus has shifted.
God is not asking you to figure everything out. He is asking you to trust Him in everything.
We can ask ourselves: What has been occupying my mind more, God's truth, or my worries.
When you feel anxiety rise, pause and redirect your thoughts to God; repeat a promise, whisper a prayer; or simply say, "I trust You, Lord."
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:7
