BONUS TIP: Trust me on this one – lock them securely in your rack. People on deployment can have "sticky fingers" when it comes to good snacks, so keep your stash safe! Headphones are non-negotiable, and you'll want both wired and wireless options. This is where a lot of people make mistakes. While wireless earbuds are convenient for everyday use, remember EMCON (Emission Control). When the ship is in EMCON, wireless devices are strictly restricted to prevent signal leakage. Having a reliable pair of wired headphones ensures you can still listen to music, podcasts, or movies without violating security protocols. It’s a small detail that makes a huge difference in staying entertained when connectivity is limited. Don't underestimate the power of a good Hydroflask or water bottle.
