Where My Makeup Journey Began
Looking back at these behind-the-scenes moments from my time in New Zealand, I still remember the short hair, the fast pace, and the excitement of being backstage for the first time.
I once lived a regular 9-to-5 office life, until 2015, when I decided to follow my heart and move to New Zealand for a new chapter.
During that time, I experienced life as an international student, and later studied makeup full-time while on a work visa, earning my NZQA qualification.
After moving to Singapore last year, I continued my studies in < fashion and Photographic makeup > to better understand Asian and Southeast Asian features, and gradually grew into a professional MUA with an iTEC international certification.
From New Zealand to Singapore, from passion to profession, these photos capture where it all began, and shaped the beauty philosophy I believe in today:
Soft Natural Glam
not about doing more,
but about softly enhancing the beauty you already have.
This is my new beginning in Lion City. ✨
从热爱,到专业。
这是我在狮城的新开始,也想真诚记录每一次关于美的改变。

Choosing to leave a conventional career behind and pursuing a passion in makeup artistry has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. When I first arrived in New Zealand as an international student, adjusting to a new culture and language was challenging but exciting. Studying full-time to earn my NZQA qualification while on a work visa required dedication, yet it solidified my foundation in professional makeup. Later, moving to Singapore opened doors to specialize further in fashion and photographic makeup, allowing me to better appreciate diverse Asian and Southeast Asian features. Earning an iTEC international certification boosted my confidence and helped me grow as a proficient makeup artist (MUA). What truly inspires me is the philosophy behind Soft Natural Glam—enhancing one’s natural beauty softly rather than overpowering it. This approach reflects in every client interaction, emphasizing subtlety and individual uniqueness. Backstage moments in New Zealand, with the fast-paced environment and creative energy, laid the groundwork for this style. For aspiring MUAs or anyone dreaming of a career change, my experience shows that persistence, continuous learning, and embracing cultural nuances enrich your artistry. Makeup is not just about products or techniques; it’s about telling a story and empowering confidence through beauty. Wherever life takes you, staying true to your passion and philosophy will always guide your best work.
