Last March Book Review

2025/4/3 Edited to

... Read moreOkay, so I know I'm a little late, but I just had to share my thoughts on the last book I finished in March: 'Behind the Net' by Stephanie Archer! I'd been eyeing this one for a while, especially since I'm a huge fan of sports romance, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. First off, let's talk about that iconic 'Behind the Net' book cover. You know the one – featuring a charismatic man in a hockey jersey, holding a woman who's sitting playfully on a hockey net. It perfectly captures the vibe of the story – fun, flirty, and undeniably hockey-centric. The visual is so striking, and it definitely drew me in, making me eager to dive into Stephanie Archer's world. This book is pure hockey romance gold. From the moment I started, I was completely swept away by the characters and their undeniable chemistry. Without giving away too many spoilers, the push and pull, the witty banter, and the underlying tension between the main characters were absolutely captivating. You really feel invested in their journey, both on and off the ice. As someone who loves a good sports story intertwined with a heartwarming romance, this hit all the right notes. I ended up giving 'Behind the Net' a solid four-star rating, and here's why. The writing was engaging, the pacing was excellent, and I genuinely cared about what happened to everyone. The hockey elements were well-integrated, adding an exciting layer to the romance without overshadowing it. What kept it from a perfect five stars for me was just a tiny personal preference in one minor plot point, but honestly, it's a fantastic read that I'd recommend to almost anyone looking for a feel-good story. The characters were memorable, and I found myself thinking about them long after I turned the last page. For those wondering if 'Behind the Net' is part of a series, it is! While it can be read as a standalone, it's part of the 'Vancouver Storm' series. Stephanie Archer has a wonderful way of building interconnected worlds with unique characters in each book, so if you fall in love with this one, there are more stories to explore in the same universe. It's great to know there's more to look forward to from this talented author. If you haven't picked up a Stephanie Archer book yet, 'Behind the Net' is a brilliant place to start. Go grab it and let me know what you think!

i have some mixed feelings about this book! overall, i really did like it. it was fast-paced and kept my attention. but it was a little TOO far-fetched at some points. i get it, it’s fiction! it doesn’t HAVE to be realistic. but i just feel like some parts could have been thought out a little b
