Anybody ever get a kidney stone while breastfeedin

Currently trying to pass a stone, I’m 3 months post partum and still breastfeeding. At first they had me trying to pass without meds, but the pain was too much and the vomiting was wiping me out. They finally prescribed me some low dose but strong pain meds, and so I’ll have to start pumping and dumping. However I was wondering if I really needed to dump it, if it would be safe for diaper rashes and cradle cap like regular breastmilk that baby didn’t finish after thawing etc.

Also thank my lucky stars for my freezer stash 😩

... Read moreIf you're breastfeeding and facing the discomfort of kidney stones, it's important to know you're not alone. Many individuals experience this challenging situation postpartum. First and foremost, consulting with your healthcare provider is crucial to ensure you're receiving appropriate pain management and understanding the implications of medications on breastfeeding. Some medications can pass through breast milk, potentially affecting your baby, so it’s vital to discuss safe options with your doctor. Regarding milk safety, if you're prescribed pain relief that requires you to pump and dump, the importance of following through on this is to ensure your baby is only receiving milk that's safe and free of any medication traces. However, breast milk that hasn’t been consumed can still be used for other purposes, such as soothing diaper rashes or cradle cap, thanks to its natural healing properties. It’s worthwhile to have a consultation with a lactation specialist or pediatrician to get personalized advice based on your situation. Moreover, don’t overlook the emotional strain of dealing with kidney stones while caring for a newborn. Ensure you have adequate support, whether that’s from family, friends, or professional help, allowing you to focus on recovery without feeling overwhelmed. Remember, managing stress and taking care of your physical health is equally essential for both you and your little one.
