Kinder Prep: The Skills We’re Working on This Summer
When trying to prepare for kindergarten, most people are worried about cramming for the “big test”: colors and shapes, addition, reading, etc.
Honestly? While those are strong skills to possess walking into the classroom, some of the biggest challenges come from learning basic life skills and independent tasks.
As a mom of a neurodivergent child, I understand some of these skills take extra practice and support for your little(s). One thing I’ve learned through this process is kindergarten readiness looks different for EVERY child. I’ve also learned that nothing has to be perfect. Your job as their caregiver is to provide them the skills and tools to navigate their first day of school with independence and confidence ✨
