Day Six…
This one was a big tackle for me.
This pile has been staring me in the face and stealing my sitting space for… months. The problem was I ran out of hangers. And room in my closet and dressers. So in a spiral of executive dysfunction, I felt my only option was to leave the task half hazardously unfinished. I didn’t see a physical completion in the long run, so what was the point?
I found a few more hangers and thought to myself, “At this point, enough is enough. It’s time to tackle this. Even if it’s just making it look a little better.” I used the hangers I found to fold some of the bulkier coats/hoodies, parted ways with some well loved pieces, and folded what was left. I still don’t have space in my clothing storage so this will still be their home until I can find a solution.
Something I learned recently and I’m trying to teach myself is that perfection is not the goal. Completion is not the goal. Any amount of progress is progress in itself, and it’s a start. Do the thing.
