I'm tired of men mistaking decency for flirting
It’s exhausting especially with this guy in my new nursing class. He’s acted like I’m flirting since day one. He commented weirdly on my Blundstones twice, texts me about assessments I don’t even take (instead of the group chat). Last week, he guilted me into letting him tag along for lunch, kept prying about my life, thanked me 5 times, then put his hand on my shoulder in front of everyone. I’m just polite! Today, I avoided showing him how to use a peak flow meter and he laughed at my jokes even when he wasn’t part of the convo. Now I’m dreading him asking me out or getting salty, I might lie about having a partner.
For me, class isn’t a dating spot! Has anyone else dealt with guys misreading your kindness? How do you shut it down?

Complimented a dude’s necklace once while I was working as a cashier (literally was just like, oh hey, cool necklace) and he took that as flirting and wouldn’t leave me alone after. He hung around the store for a while that night, (went to put buggies up and he came up out of nowhere to talk to me) and when I told him I was married, he told me it didn’t matter and to leave my husband for him. He would ask me if I had left him yet every time he came in after.
