Anxiety can feel scary, but it’s your nervous system trying to protect you.

Slow down your breathing, ground yourself, and remember: the feeling will pass.

You’re not broken. Your body is just overwhelmed.

... Read moreAnxiety often feels like your mind is spinning out of control, imagining the worst possible outcomes. This is because your nervous system interprets perceived threats as a danger to your safety, even when there may be no real harm. When this happens, your body triggers a fight-or-flight response, making you feel unsafe and overwhelmed. From personal experience, I’ve found that simple practices can help ease these intense moments. For example, slowing down your breathing by inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling slowly through your mouth can help calm your nervous system. Grounding techniques such as focusing your attention on physical sensations—like the feeling of your feet on the floor or holding a small object—can also anchor your mind in the present moment. Remember, feeling anxious is not a sign that you’re broken; it’s a natural reaction when your nervous system becomes overwhelmed. Overthinking and crashing emotionally are common reactions, but they will pass. With consistent self-awareness and healing practices, you can learn to manage anxiety and build resilience over time. Integrating mindfulness and breathing exercises into your daily routine can significantly improve your mental health and help you regain control when anxiety arises.
