HOW I MOVED OUT (w/ ADHD + OCD)
This may not be the most organized - as ironic as it is - but I was SO overwhelmed with moving. I had such little motivation and knew if I didn’t act soon, I’d self sabotage myself in no time. Hopefully these were helpful or inspiring and I’m happy to go into it deeper! #adhdroom #ocdtips #movingout
Moving out can be a daunting task, especially for individuals with ADHD and OCD. It's crucial to break down the process into manageable steps. Start by gathering necessary supplies such as boxes from wine outlets and grocery stores. Instead of tackling one room at a time, consider packing by categories—like kitchen items, tools, and miscellaneous—making organization easier. Utilizing platforms like Goodwill or Facebook Marketplace can be a game changer for decluttering. Ensure to take quality photos of your items with good lighting and make them look appealing. It's advisable to state that prices are negotiable to attract more buyers. Furthermore, always meet in public spaces when selling furniture to ensure safety. Motivation can be a challenge; try creating a checklist of tasks and rewarding yourself upon completion. This gamifies the process and gives you a sense of accomplishment with each task checked off. Remember, planning ahead can alleviate much of the stress associated with moving and make the entire experience more positive. Sharing this journey not only helps you but may also inspire others facing similar challenges.
